Nine Month Old

Little M's been in a couple of times in the last couple of months.
For this session we did body parts.
It's a little harder to get part pictures of a nine month old.
They move a whole lot more than a newborn!!

Isn't he the CUTEST?!?

5 Month Old

Little D. came in for 5 month old pictures.

He was at a perfect "grab your feet" age.

I adore when babies lay on their backs and grab their feet.

I think it's mix of awe that they can get their feet that high and
pure cuteness!!

I'm back

Thanks for your patience during my extended "sick leave".
I couldn't believe how this flu took hold of me.

This thing was very contagious as Keyanna fell ill on Sunday, my niece on Monday, my mom & husband on Wednesday, my sister on Thursday and Nathan on Friday.
It's whipped through our family with only my brother-in-law left to get it.
I figure it'll be any day.

SICK

On Saturday at my son's birthday party I started getting that "I'm not feeling too well" feeling. After the party, whoo nelly, it came on full force. Fever, chills, the works!

We made it to church on Sunday yet by the time we arrived home me and the couch were best friends. Unfortunately my Keyanna started the "I'm not feeling too well" feelings and took up the other 1/2 of the couch. She's longer than I remember!

Yesterday morning Keyanna woke up good as new ... me ... not so much. This thing has wiped me out something fierce!

So, again, I apologize to the two people who had to be canceled! I'll call for rescheduling very soon.

I'm going to take it easy today and then by tomorrow be back to business!!

Being sick is not fun!

I thought about posting a picture of what I look like right now -- this is a photo blog after all. But I didn't want any of you to find yourselves suddenly coming down with something! :)

Happy Birthday, Nathan!

Seven years, nine months ago I found that that Shawn and I would be blessed with another child. We desperately tried for another child for about a year so we were overjoyed! About 6 weeks into my pregnancy my doctor called and said that I had some complications and the possibility of carrying this child to full-term were remote at best. Lots of scary moments followed but on February 16, 2001 my Nathan was born into this world weighing 9 pounds, 10 ounces.

We loved him from the moment we layed eyes on him.A few months into Nathan's life we discovered that he wasn't developing as other babies his age did. He didn't have the muscle control. A trip to our pediatricians office got us an appointment with a Chicago Neurologist with an early diagnosis of Muscular Dystrophy. The catch ... the soonest we could get into the Neurologist ... three months. Oh, were those three LONG months. Our wonderful, wonderful Neurologist (when the day finally arrived) took one look at our son and said, "No, I think it's Hypotonia." I had no idea what this was but I'd take anything over Muscular Dystrophy! I grew up watching the Jerry Lewis telethons during Labor Day weekend. I knew what MD was! Dr. Swisher said that while we have some major work in our future he thought Nathan would be "caught up" with his peers sometime by his 10th birthday.

Major work did follow. Nathan had physical therapy three days a week for many years. In fact, part of his therapy was riding a horse. He'll never remember but he had a great time on Dude!! He graduated out of the program at 3 years old with caution.

It's estimated that Nathan is now 25% or so behind his peers. Something that doesn't bother him in the least! He's our miracle boy.

His name Nathan Paul means God's little Gift.

He has been that and more to us.

Happy birthday to my favorite little boy!

New Year Baby #2

Yeah for New Year baby #2. Little M's mom said that she delivered around 8am just beating that all important "First Baby of the Year" by ONE baby.
Too bad I heard there were free diapers involved.

I was thrilled to have little M. in the studio.
I've had the wonderful opportunity to photograph her cousins quite a bit.

The cake continues ...

This great guy is another one of my Newborn Memories Members.
From newborn to this his one year session he has been adorable!!
You may have seen him on the blog before.
He's the one who gets to be photographed with his dog.
Happy 1st Birthday, C!

Let's start the cake ...

Little S. is the start of quite a few 1 year sessions this month.
Lots of smiles, lots of cake!
I've had the privilege of following S. from the beginning of her life.
Happy Birthday S.
May God bless you through all your years!
