We enjoyed a few great days lazing around as a family.
We watched all the cheesy Christmas Movies -- Shrek the Halls, Frosty the Snowman, etc.
The kids' favorite part was probably the presents Christmas Morning.
After driving to Ohio to spend time with my Mom's side of the family
we drove to Florida to be with my older sister.
We took three days and two nights to get there.
It was rough -- five hours a day in the car :)
We made up for it on the way home and did it all in one day -- sixteen hours.
At the hotels my Mom took one bed and I took the other.
We kicked the kids to the floor.
They didn't mind -- in fact, at home they request to sleep on the floor as a special treat.
Once we left Indiana my Nathan refused to wear a coat.
He decided that it'd be warm as we were on a Southern Vacation.
When I talked to Lisa Christmas Day it was 78 degrees and sunny.
When we arrive it was a cloudy 48 degrees.
Being from the North we still thought this quite warm.
By Wednesday it was a HIGH of 38 degrees.
I made Nathan put his coat back on!
And we determined that my sis had been in the south too long.
She had on FIVE LAYERS and thought she was going to die with frostbite.
Us Yankees took it in stride.
This sign at one of the local businesses cracked me up.
Doesn't this look like the warmest spot on earth?
Not so!
Of course, Nathan absolutely refused to wear his coat on the beach.
Plus, they both took their shoes off and were walking in the water!
So that was our Winter Vacation.
We were happy to get home to our cat, oh and Daddy!
He missed us while we were gone but did enjoy that the house stayed clean.
He's the neat freak (NOT ME)
