Customer Appreciation Days

First of all let me say -- Titles to the posts freak me out.
Today's was pretty easy but most of the time I feel rather blah about such things.
I guess that's why I'm a photographer and not a novelist.
I continually go around and see photographs in my mind.

The blue sky with a tree in the frame just so ...
My son when he's watching TV and his eyelashes are illuminated by the glow of the TV ...
The bear at the zoo peaking from behind the rock.

Words -- Not so much.

But, I digress.

Today was the beginning of Customer Appreciation Days
here at Tak Photography.
No pictures quite yet but I wanted to say that I've had a blast today.

It all started with my longest customer. I'm sure you've seen her as she's in a lot of my literature!!
We had an entire fish bowl of water tip over. We had the cleanest cake eating session.
It's been a fun day!

Want to join in the fun?
There are available spots this week!!
Check out the website for more details.

Just an FYI!
This blog's very first post was about Customer Appreciation Days last year.

Happy one year blog to Tak Photography.
I need to find some cake!!

My Family

When you are a photographer it sometimes gets a little tricky to take a picture of yourself.
Most of the time when I want a family picture I set the camera up on my tripod and get everything set. I then have my sister, Bethany, push the button.

Well, with this picture, I had a problem.
Bethany (and everyone else is my family) was in the picture.

My sister Lisa was in town and we wanted a family picture of ALL of us.
Time for the stand-by ... the camera timer.
What fun it was to push the button then RUN into place.
Of course, it did make us all smile.
We had such luck with the timer that I continued using it for the above shot.
Ahh! Relief - It felt good to have the camera back in my hand again!!

This is a rare photo!!
My mom, who is quite beautiful, isn't a fan of the camera.
She's actually been the reason I have great empathy for those reluctant participants who come into the studio.
But this photo -- perfection!Another miracle picture!!!
These three haven't taken a good picture together in forever.
My mom has been wanting a mouse pad with the three together.
FINALLY!

Continuing Easter Days

You may recognize these two.

Isn't he the cutest??

I LOVE this picture!
I love how no matter what kids are honest.
I'm thinking the flowers didn't smell too well!

Little A. & T.
A great combination!

More Easter Days

Little A. came in to continue our Easter Days.

Our resident bunny has gotten a lot of smooches this season.
Little A. actually likes bunnies so much that she actually had bunnies in her Christmas pictures!

Mommy Post

I've been following this blog -- http://cfhusband.blogspot.com/
for quite a while now.

Basically the story is this -- Tricia married to Nate has CF.
Right before getting listed for new lungs Tricia found herself pregnant.
Feeling it God's miraculous plan for their lives they, against many doctors recommendations, decided to go ahead with the pregnancy at great risk to Tricia.

Fast forward to January. Gwyneth Rose is born VERY early!!
Both Tricia and Gwyneth are at Duke Hospital.

There was a challenge from another reader of the blog to list what we mom's wish for Tricia.
Basically a list of what the blessings of motherhood that we've experienced.
I thought with most of the readers of this blog being Mommy's themselves you may relate.
Feel free to add to the list in the comment page.

Here is my list:
*Only wanting Mom when they skin their knee (even at 10 yo!)
*Words tumbling out of both of their mouths (at the same time) when I pick them up from school.
*Watching one relate to the other a funny story.
*Enjoying them interact with their Daddy.
*Listening to Nathan sing praise songs with all his heart at church.
*Getting to hear, "Ahh, Mom" whenever either is asked to do something.
*Brushing Kia's hair in the morning.
*Reading any book and having their absolute attention.
*Bedtime prayers.
*A rare kiss from Kia.
*A cuddle from Nathan.

Easter Days -- Off to the races

It's Easter Days here in the studio.
A time for little ones to come and show off their pretty Easter Wares.
Our first session of the event started us off right.

Here's little A. showing not only her pretty dress but our prop bunny.

Her sister C. with her beautiful(!) red hair shows us her dress along with our resident bunny.
Now it's little J.'s turn! Look how great he's doing.
Sometimes little J. doesn't like to get his picture taken.
But he even has a smile in this picture!!
Oops ... Spoke too soon!!
Apparently J.'s now finished with pictures!!
I promise no little kids were harmed in the making of this photo!!
